ACER REVIEW

One of the best producers of laptops in the world is Acer, which is a large multinational corporation that operates all over the world and which produces many other devices such as: computers, notebooks, PDA-s, servers, displays, peripherals, storage devices and also software products. For today we’ll make an Acer notebook review and we’ll choose to discuss about the brand new model – the Acer Ferrari One.

As you can tell from its name and from its cool design, it is made in collaboration with the Ferrari company, one of the best brands of supercars in the world. A Ferrari is not just about speed, it is an expression of beauty, power, excitement and pleasure – and this is what the engineers at Acer had in mind when they created this laptop. Actually it is more a netbook, and this is because it has a 11.6 " TFT WXGA display screen, with 24 bit (16.7 million colors) – CineCrystal technology and a resolution of up to 1366 x 768. The Acer Ferrari One was probably made as a response to the netbook from Alienware – the Alienware M 11 X, and even though it is not as powerful as that one, it can still be a good laptop for gaming. Its processor is the AMD Athlon 64 X 2 L 310 / 1.2 GHz ( Dual Core ) which is quite really good for a netbook. It comes with a memory of 4 GB DDR 2 SDRAM – 667 Mhz and with a large hard drive of 250 GB. It is quite small and really portable, with overall dimensions of 11.2 in x 8 in x 1.2 in and a weight of just 3.3 lbs.

It even has a 5 in 1 media card reader, with support for: SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card. Its graphics engine is good too, and it has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 video card. The sound will be good too, thanks to the DirectSound, High Definition Audio and Dolby Home Theater features. It also has a built in webcam with microphone and both wireless and Ethernet connectivity for easy access to the internet. The Lithium Ion battery has a good battery life of up to 5 hours and it comes with an installed version of the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Edition. It is also Energy Star Qualified so it uses less energy and meets strict energy efficiency guidelines.

It has most of the ports you might need, such as: 1 video PCI Express port, 1 VGA port, 1 Ethernet port, 3 high speed USB ports, 1 audio port and 1 microphone port. It has 1 year of warranty and comes at quite a big price for a netbook of 640 dollars. The producer also offers a lot of installed programs so that you can use it right after you buy it. Among them there is the Microsoft Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat Reader, WinDVD, Acer Launch Manager, Google Toolbar, Adobe Flash Player, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, Google Setup, Acer GridVista, Windows Live Essentials, Acer Assist, Norton Online Backup, McAfee Internet Security Suite (Trial), Microsoft Office Personal 2007, Acer Crystal Eye, Acer Video Conference Manager, Microsoft Works 9.0 and the Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition (60 days trial). Enjoy it!
